Birthday Celebration This Weekend

Apparently there is a birthday celebration this weekend for fellow blogger Mark (Gark) Lush.  I guess you have to be on facebook to know about this shit though.  I will be in attendance despite not getting an invitation.  I'm looking forward to catching up with some of the groups old flames that seem to have been caught in Mark's circle of friends.

It should be another fun time at the grocery store.  Happy Birthday Mark!  For your birthday, I've added a song to my blog from one of your favorite bands, just for you.

Criminal?

There have been multiple stores I've gone into with Mayte, and the security alarm goes off.  She says it's her jacket, but I think it's the merchandise she's hiding in her jacket.  This wraps up a week dedicated to Mayte.  Thanks for the beer.

Faithfull Ale Has Been Located and Delivered!

The winner of blogs for a week is..................Mayte!

Hopefully she's still alive after yesterday.  I came out of my bathroom to see her gulping down a bottle of water.  She finished the entire bottle, set it down and then said it tasted really bad.  It was at that point I realized where she got the bottle of water, as I was pretty sure I didn't have any new bottles in the house.  I had a bottle of water on my dresser I use to put in my iron for steam.  My best guess is that bottle was filled at least 2 months ago with tap water, giving it plenty of time to grow bacteria and anything else that happens to stagnant water.  I think she's learned her lesson, in drinking or eating random things in my house, if she's still alive.

Finally Made it to West on North

It seems I was there the same night this review was given on yelp:

"I went here on a Saturday night after Thanksgiving.  I got in around 8pm and there were only a few other people.  Then about 1/2 hour later 2 really drunk guys showed up and took over the jukebox.  The bartender called them the day drinkers, and she seemed suprised to see them out at this time of night.  Now I always thought the "day drinkers" of the bars I went to were creepy old guys.  These guys were not that old, but the rest of the description fit.  Anyway, after listening to there jukebox  plays of Hall and Oates, and Huey Lewis and the News, they stumbled out again into the rainy night.  The bar then filled in a little more, and had a nice atmosphere.  I think the prices are a little steep for this bar, but other than that, it was just an ok bar.  Nothing great and nothing too bad.  It looks like they have a nice patio I'd like to check out next summer.  If you make it in here, I guess these two local drunks are usually there on Sundays for the Bears games.  I think they go by the names Dim and Triss."

What a strange coincidence, but I think I do remember seeing these two there.  I think one of them ran out without paying his bill.

Football game on Sunday:
The game gets set to begin

Albright(Baby Shaq) leaves the earth to try and block one of Brusek's many touchdown throws.
Gutierrez gets ready to strike against a far superior defense.

My team going over what everyone is bringing to the following weeks party.
Both Leslies are wide open, yet Brusek can't see through Gutierrez to make the connection.

First On The Scene Again!

That's right I was first on the scene once again.  Before the SunTimes, Tribune, or WGN.  It was first reported as a bomb explosion in the baggage area for United between B and C concourse.  As I was on the scene the same time as the CFD and ATF, it was reported that there was a bomb that went off and two more possible.  It was also reported that the United baggage handler had his arm blown off.  This all took place mere feet from my office at O'Hare.
It was later determined that it was a battery that exploded in a bag and caused minor injuries to the baggage handler.  The other two bags were considered suspicious at the time of the incident because they somehow made it through bag check without being tagged.  They were unidentified and therefore considered suspicious.  If any more details become availiable you will read them here.  Once again, first on the scene, 911 on the 411 in the 312, or 773 in this case.

The incident took place in the baggage area adjacent to this walkway:

Football Game Ends In A Tie!

Yesterday blog followers met at historic Smith Park for what turned out to be an epic battle on the gridiron.  The game was a heated battle that ended in a tie due to the controversial call of no touchdown on a catch I made in the end zone that was clearly in bounds.  It was a great battle anyway, and now it hurts for me to move.  Also captured on film at the game was Mr. George Gutierrez displaying his 2 inch vertical, dispelling all previous rumors that he could only jump 1 inch.

George skys to try and block a sure touchdown pass thrown by me.

2 Year Anniversary Party Scheduled

That's right, the celebration of the blog turning 2 years old will be held Saturday Septmeber 22, 2012.  I know there were some complaints that the 1 year anniversary scheduling did not provide ample time for a reply to the invite, so I've decided to give you a little more time next year.  It's my mistake for waiting untill August 15th of this year to inform all of you of the party that was scheduled for September 24th.  I now know my followers are either too busy to keep that date free, lazy fucks who can't respond to an invite, or quit following months ago.  No matter what the case, I believe a 365 day advance notice of next years party should be plenty of time for all of you fucks to keep the date clear and pencil it in your calendar.

Blog Anniversary Party Cancelled and Pearl Jam Twenty Review

The party is cancelled, now on to the important shit.
Pearl Jam Twenty the documentary by Cameron Crowe.  The film covers everything from Green River and Mother Love Bone up to present day interviews with members of Pearl Jam.  It is jam packed with never before seen footage the band did not even know existed.  It shows the bands ups, downs, and even shows their lighter side with a few laughs.  It's amazing to see the number and heights of stage dives the band, especially Mr. Vedder survived throughout their early career.  It appears that about from '91 to about '94 Vedder had been up in the rafters of just about every venue they played.  It covers the death of Kurt and how he and Vedder had actually made peace and liked each other before his death.  Some funny footage of Vedder and Cobain slow dancing backstage at the MTV Video Awards is also in the film.  If you go see this movie it will be hard to miss the point in the film where Vedder looks directly into the camera and says "fuck you Kevin".  Coincidence, I think not.  He heard about my blog is my guess.  Probably my favorite moment is the footage the band doesn't want you to see.  Around the time the movie Singles was released they were playing shows almost every night.  They finally had a well needed night off, when Cameron Crowe asked them to play the Singles Premiere party.  At this point in their career, the band said they had a hard time saying no, so they agreed to play the show.  Nobody in the band wanted to play this show and as a result ended up getting completely wasted.  I think it was Jeff that said at this show there was a bottle of tequilla backstage which they never had, and it was gone before the show.  Not many of the members of the band would talk much about this show, and the footage tells you why.  They are stumbling all over the stage and Vedder sounds like a freshmen at SIU after his first kegger.  It does touch on the times the band almost broke up, including the 2000 show at Rockslide where 9 fans died.  In the end though, it seems as if the band is ready for the next 20.  A great look at the bands history from many different perspectives.  Well worth watching.

Anniversary Week At The Blog!

As many of my dedicated followers know, this coming Sunday, September, 25 marks the 1 year anniversary of the blog.  There will be a party at the home of the blog's author on Saturday the 24th to celebrate this event.  The blog has been through a lot in the last year.  Probably my favorite post, moment, and one of the highest peaks as far as hits go, this blog has seen was the reporting live from the scene of a shooting.  This shooting was reported here first, before the Sun Times, before the Tribune, and it gave this blog it's accreditation it's known to have today.  It couldn't have been done without my dedicated followers though.  I wouldn't be here without you, and this week is dedicated to all of you.  Thanks to all of you.

911 ANNIVERSARY PARTY AND MIDWEST BOOZERS MIXER ANNOUNCED

That's right, on September 25th this blog will celebrate it's 1st birthday.  In honor of that event and the start of the Midwest Boozers Football League, there will be a social gathering at the home of the author of this blog and commissioner of the league.  This event will take place on Saturday September 24th.  I encourage all followers to attend as it's sure to be a can't miss event that will be covered by this blog and attended by authors of fellow bloggers, blog followers, friends, and Jeff Smith.  That's right, it hasn't been confirmed yet, but the only man that has had a whole week dedicated to him on this blog will hopefully make a special appearance.  If we're lucky and everything goes right, there will be a timeslot dedicated to him appropriately named "Storytime with Mr. Smith".  More details and guest appearances to follow.  This could be the event of 2011, so you don't want to miss it.

P.S.  I send my regrets to fellow blogger Mr. Mark Lush.  Your job lasted well longer than anyone imagined.  Almost longer than your voyage to the sacred land.  Thank God it didn't outlast that, or we would have had to have another going away, or retirement party for you.  Maybe you should have another party, and then they'll let you keep working for another month.

My Protege Comes Out With A Blog

Not sure if any of my followers have noticed but Daddy Landmeier is once again following in the footsteps of his mentor.  If you can find your way through the pointless drivel, amidst the abundance of spelling errors, you will find out more about his wonderful family.

On a serious note, it is worth taking a look.  It has taken me over a week to deliberate whether or not my blog would promote this new blog and I have come to the conclusion it has some significance and should be made aware to the followers of my blog.  Enjoy!

What Good Is Modern Technology?

If you don't take advantage of it?  So, I have a refrigerator that tells you the temperature on a LCD display on the door.  I noticed on Sunday when I opened a brand new gallon of milk that there was this giant white slimeball on the top.  I figured I bought a bad gallon of milk and didn't use it.  Smelled it though, and it smelled a little like paint, but not sour.  Anyway, I continued to eat food from this refrigerator up untill today when I took a bottle of water from it.  I thought to myself, hmm, this bottle of water doesn't feel all that cold.  I hadn't noticed in previous days because anything coming out of my refrigerator seemed cold compared to the 97 degree temperature of my house.  So after grabbing the water today I looked at the inside temp.  It read 49 degrees.  I've been eating spoiled hot dogs, mustard, ketchup, potato salad, and macaroni salad for the last three days.  No wonder my stomach has hurt every morning.  One night I woke up sweating with severe stomach pains.  I thought I ordered bad Chineese food.

A lesson to all, use modern technology, it's there for a reason.

Met Eddie Vedder Last Night!

Not as cool as I thought it would have gone down.  We got in a fist fight over spilled beer.  No, just kidding, but it really could have been better.  He came into Stanley's in Lincoln Park after a great show at the Chicago Theater.  I happened to be standing at the side door he came in and shook his hand and talked for a brief second before he went downstairs to a private party with the biggest asshole in the world, Chris Chelios.  That's right, I'm calling out my childhood favortie hockey player for being a deuchebag.  Just because you played hoceky in this city 500 years ago, doesn't mean you should act like you own it.  After all, when I was 17 I had your bitch mom and sister serve me lunch.  What kind of dick plays pro sports and makes there mom and sister serve food at his shitty chili  bar.  I wonder why it's closed.  Enough about piss chelios, he'll always be a redwing.

R.I.P. Ryan Dunn

Dunn and his passenger, Zac Hartwell were killed when his Porsche slammed into a tree in Chester County and burst into flames, police say

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was killed early Monday morning when his Porsche flew over a guardrail in West Goshen, Pa., slammed into a tree and burst into flames, according to local police.
Dunn's passenger -- who police have not identified -- was also killed.
Dunn, 34, was identified by his tattoos, according to a witness who was on the scene when the bodies were pulled from the wreckage.
The one-car accident happened on Route 322 around 2:30 a.m., according to Officer Geiger with West Goshen police. The 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 shot through about 40 yards of trees before it hit the last one and exploded into flames, according to police. The police press release (.PDF) reads, "Preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident."
Dunn was last seen at Barnaby's of America in West Chester in the hours before the accident.
Multimedia

RAW VIDEO: First Video From Scene of Ryan Dunn Fatal Crash
"Ryan didn't appear drunk before he left," Barnaby's manager told NBC Philadelphia. That manager said Dunn left the bar around 2 a.m.
Bam Margera's mom April was the first to publicly confirm the reality TV star's death. In an interview with NBC Philadelphia, April says she learned of the accident after getting a call from WMMR's Preston and Steve radio show. She shared the news with the show after speaking with police.
"He's just the sweetest guy you'd ever want to know and he would do anything for you," April Margara said. April and her husband Phil teared up as they spoke about Dunn saying they considered him a son.
"I know the entire 'Jackass' family is devastated and all of West Chester is devastated," she said.
April Margara also said Dunn was a fast driver and that she told him to slow down "everyday" following a bad accident he was involved in more than a decade ago.
"He drove too fast and I yelled at him all the time about that," she said.
Dunn was known primarily for his dangerous antics and practical jokes in MTV's "Jackass" series and movies with his long-time friend Bam Margera. He is a member of the CKY Crew with Margera. Dunn also co-hosted a show on the G4 network called "Proving Ground."
Bam Margera, who is currently in Phoenix, Ariz., has not spoken publicly about Dunn's death. His parents say he's devastated by the news.
Dunn's friend and former co-star Johnny Knoxville tweeted this statement:
"Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy."
MTV also released this statement via Twitter regarding the death of Ryan Dunn:
"We're deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family."

This picture was posted on Dunn's Tumblr about two hours before the accident took place. It has since been removed from his account.  Zac Hartwell, on Dunn's left was the passenger killed.

These pictures were taken at the scene of the accident

Now, down to business.  Happy Birthday Susan!  Today's blog will be on the topic of miss heard lyrics.  Please leave your favorite in the comment section.  Susan's is "cinnamon gum" instead of "You should've been gone".  This is one of my personal favorites.  Let's see if my followers can give me something better?

You should've been gone (Cinnamon gum)
Knowing how I made you feel
And I should've been gone
After all your words of steel
Oh I must have been a dreamer
(must have been a dreamer I know)
And I must've been someone else
(someone else)
And we should've been over
(over now)

Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on
Holds on
Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on
Holds on

Oh, I want to let go
You'll go on hurtin' me
You'd be better off alone
If I'm not who you'd thought I'd be

Oh, you know that there's a fever
(there's a fever I know)
Oh, that you'll never find nowhere else
(nowhere, nowhere else)
Can't you feel it burnin' on and on

Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on
Holds on
Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on

(guitar solo)

Oh Sherrie

But I should've been gone (Cinnamon gum)
Long ago, far away
Now I know you'd lie
You'll stay

Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on
Holds on
Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on
Holds on
Oh Sherrie
Our love holds on
Holds on

Hold on, ooh Sherrie

Woman fatally stabbed nearby her bar, apparently by son - Chicago Sun-Times

This bar has been frequented on Fridays after work by the author. I have met with the owner on several occasions at her bar. Most recently a few weeks ago. She mentioned the time she called a cab for me and asked if I was going to need another cab on this night. I told her I was leaving soon and would not.  Little did I know this was the last time I would see her, and thanfully probably the last time I'd have to go in this dive of a bar she owned. RIP Henryka.

See you on the flipside,

If you can read the writing on the wall, it is eerily similar to the first comment ever made on this blog back on 9/25/10 by Mr. Mark Lush.  Amazing!

Love it. It's sort of social, demented and sad, but social.

26 Hours and 2 Server Crashes Later!

I have acquired PJ20 Tickets at Alpine Valley for September 3rd and 4th.  Tickets to the fanclub went on sale yesterday at 12 noon central time.  At about 11:50 the server for Pearl Jam's website crashed.  At 11:38 the site had seen the most people logged on at one time in all it's existence.  At about 6pm the website declared that the web store was closed untill further notice with many tickets remaining.  They had apparently not expected the flood of requests from all over the world for this show.  Tickets went on sale to the fanclub only again today at 12 noon central time.  The website once again crashed but somehow remained functional enough to use links to get to the store and buy tickets.  I was one of the lucky fans that made it through and purchased a pair of tickets to both nights.  This should be one of the best shows of the year.  Tickets to the general public go on sale on June 4th.  Good luck to all those interested in trying to acquire these tickets.  More information can be found at:
