R.I.P., R.I.P., and Congratulations!

Elmer Lynn Hauldren is dead at the age of 89.  For those of you familiar with the barbershop quartet arena, Elmer was a key singer, recording several albums with the quartet Chordiac Arrest.  For the rest of us, Elmer was the man we all grew up with in the Empire Carpet commercials.  R.I.P. Elmer.

The Blackhawks 2010-2011 has also died in dramatic fashion.  After being down 3 games to 0 they came back to lose the series in overtime of game 7.  What a ride.  See you next year.

Congratulations go out to a blog favorite couple on news of their engagement.  Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari have reportedly announced their engagement.  The couple is currently on vacation in Cabo.

That's all for now,

Blackhawks Get To Game 7

Amazing and hard to believe, but they've comeback from down 3-0, and the blog was in attendance to game 6.  While at the game the author ran into a long lost beer vendor friend from Comiskey Park, PakSun (sorry about the spelling Pookie).  After not seeing her in over 3 years, the meeting took place like time never passed.  After a hug, she asked "Where you been brothers?".  The funny thing is that at the time I was talking to my 2nd cousin and his wife in between periods.  I'm sure they were wondering why I was hugging an asian beer vendor woman I hadn't seen in over 2 years.  I just hate to think I've painted myself as someone who drinks too much.  Oh well, at least the Hawks got the win and will play game 7 on Tuesday at 9pm, after the Bulls game 5 at 7pm.  Both teams are looking for a series win.  Best of luck to both.

The week ahead:

Blackhawks and Bulls games on Tuesday.  No scheduled blog outing yet.

Friday the blog heads to The Park West to see The Whigs.

You may have read on other blogs about my bet to cross the mighty Lake Michigan on raft.  If the bet takes place it will definitely not happen untill this weather takes a turn for the better for quite sometime.  Probably an August time frame.  It may have been the alcohol talking, but God knows I can't back down now.  The only thing preventing the challenge from taking place right now is the lack of prize money.  I'm pretty sure, since I own two places with him, that Tim does not have the $100,000 wager, and nor do I.  I guess I wouldn't really need it though because I never fail any challenge I take.  If I did, I guess I would probably be dead and my insurance should cover it.  Only time will tell if the challenge will actually take place or not.  Stay tuned.
Stay dry and.........

I'll see you on the flipside,

A New Blog Worthy of Following

It's that time of year again, Spring.  Just as Spring brings new leaves and flowers, we have been fortunate enough that it has also brought a new blog.  I urge you all to check out the following blog:  http://www.whatfrankreallywantstosay.blogspot.com/
This blog will fill you in on most of the details from the opening day blog outing.  There is one detail that was left out that I will fill you in on here.  Apparently Mr. Jeff Smith met a lady at Hawkeyes after the game.  I was informed of this afterwards, and did not see it taking place.  Anyway, I guess he was talking to a girl at the bar for quite some time, reports are an hour, but that seems like way too long for any girl to want to talk to Jeff.  It's been reported that Jeff left the table he was at, talking to the girl, and returned to the table the rest of us were sitting at after an hour.  He was then questioned "What happend?".  He then replied "She started crying, so I walked away."  After hearing this, I would give just about anything to repeat the day and hear exactly what went down in the conversation between Jeff and the mystery girl.  That's all for now, don't forget to check out http://www.whatfrankreallywantstosay.blogspot.com/
